Lithuania’s commitment to implement all OECD legal acts in the field of chemical substances received favourable assessment2017-06-02
Since Lithuania joined the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), our country’s commitment in the field of chemical substance sector has been favourably assessed. Yesterday this opinion was voiced by members of the OECD Joint Meeting of the Chemicals Committee and the Working Party on Chemicals, Pesticides and Biotechnology that took place in Paris.
The group leader of representatives of our country, Head of the Chemical Substances Division of the Pollution Prevention Department of the Ministry of Environment Ms. Marija Teriošina thoroughly informed the participants about Lithuania’s preparation to implement OECD legal acts in this area. According to Marija Teriošina, Lithuania can implement OECD resolutions and recommendations related to the sector of chemical substances without adoption of additional legal acts and without any interim period.
Lithuania was invited to commence the procedure of joining the OECD in June 2015, and expects to become a full member in 2018.
