Rebecca Harms suggests taking advantage of the expertise of the Greens Group in the European Parliament2017-03-10
Today, Minister of Environment Kęstutis Navickas and Vice Minister Martynas Norbutas have met with Rebecca Harms, Leader of the German Green Party and Co-President of the Greens Group in the European Parliament.
During the meeting, the participants have discussed the main challenges that the Ministry of Environment will face after the change of its management. One of the key challenges is the necessity of reforms. While preparing for future reforms, it is important to be aware of international experience as well.
The meeting participants have discussed the opportunities for cooperation with the Greens Group in the European Parliament. Rebecca Harms suggests taking advantage of the expertise of the members and advisors of this Group.
According to Kęstutis Navickas, it is important for Lithuania to cooperate with the members of the Greens Group in the European Parliament and Rebecca Harms herself in resolving the issues related to environmental protection and nuclear safety of the Astraviec Nuclear Power Plant being built in neighbouring Belarus that are of a great concern for our country.
