Baltic experts share experience in combating climate change2017-02-21
Today, experts of greenhouse gas emission (GHG) inventories and projections of the three Baltic States have gathered for a joint seminar in Riga. This event is one more possibility for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to develop cooperation in combating climate change.
The participants of the seminar will share their experience in preparing GHG inventories, projections, reports on policies and measures, and discuss issues of their concern.
According to Stasilė Znutienė, Head of the Climate Change Policy Division of the Pollution Prevention Department of the Ministry of Environment, the representatives of our country will acquaint the colleagues from Latvia and Estonia with the updating of the GHG emission factors in the Lithuanian energy sector and present the national methodological guidance for the preparation of atmospheric GHG emission projections. So far such guidance has been developed only by Lithuania.
This is already the second seminar held under the partnership project ‘Baltic Expert Network for GHG Inventory, Projections and Policies and Measures Reporting’ funded from the Seed Money Facility of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The first seminar took place in Riga in October.
