Nearly 300 apartment buildings successfully renovated within the lasts semester2016-07-08
According to the Housing Energy Efficiency Agency, apartment building renovation programme has resulted in renovation of 286 apartment buildings over the first semester 2016 nationwide, including almost 80% projects carried out based on programmes run by the municipalities. Some 700 apartment buildings are now in the process of renovation, with majority to be completed by late 2016.
The outcome of the programme throughout different municipalities reveals the renovation of apartment buildings gathering pace across Lithuania. Out of 286 buildings successfully renovated in 2016, 87 apartment buildings were renovated in the largest cities nationwide, including Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, and Panevėžys. Ignalina municipality is at the top of the list of successful smaller municipalities, with 13 apartment buildings successfully renovated, while municipalities of Kupiškis and Prienai districts have completed renovation of 11 apartment buildings each, followed by Jonava district with 9 apartment buildings and the list is completed by Vilkaviškis, Joniškis, Kelmė and Kaunas district municipalities, having completed renovation of 8 apartment buildings each.
The specialists of the Housing Energy Efficiency Agency have carried on-site checks of almost 400 apartment buildings undergoing renovation during the first semester 2016, so as to verify the progress of construction and the quality of workmanship.
