Swedish entrepreneurs show interest in Lithuania’s opportunities2015-10-09
During a meeting at the Ministry of Environment yesterday, the official entrepreneur delegation of the Swedish King and Queen’s state visit in Lithuania was introduced to the activities of spheres of their interest in charge of the Ministry. ‘Hopefully this meeting will become another serious stimulus for Swedish entrepreneurs to invest more in our country,’ says Daiva Matonienė, Vice-Minister of Environment. ‘We discussed the possibilities for cooperation on all issues of interest to them’.
One of the main topics dealt with at the meeting was energy efficiency projects. Valius Serbenta, Director of the Housing Energy Efficiency Agency, gave a presentation of the Multi-Apartment Building Renovation Programme. Valdas Vaičiūnas, Director of the Forest Department of the Ministry, familiarised the delegation with the relevant issues of Lithuania’s forestry sector and described the situation with biofuel production in forests. Jurga Lazauskienė, Head of the Bedrock Geology Division of the Lithuanian Geological Survey, surveyed the status and prospects of the extraction of hydrocarbons in Lithuania. The Lithuanian waste management system was introduced to the guests by Dalius Krinickas, Director of the Waste Department, and Jurgita Gaižiūnienė, Head of the Waste Prevention and Management Strategy Division. The representatives of the Ministry of Environment answered questions on the guests’ concerns.
