Over 100,000 visitor tickets to the national parks sold in the summer2015-09-07
Over 100,000 visitor tickets were sold at the national and regional parks across Lithuania in summer 2015. Since the tickets are optional, the customers purchasing them so contribute to improvement of the protected areas. The tickets, intended to support a park of one’s choice, are available optionally since 15 May 2015.
There are various types of visitor tickets, including single, monthly, annual, and family tickets. Sale of single tickets tops the list. A single ticket valid for 5 days in a single national park comes at the price of 1 euro, while monthly ones come at 5 euros. A monthly ticket valid in any national park (including 4 national and 28 regional parks) has a price tag of 10 euros, annual ticket of 20 euros, and annual family ticket comes at a price of 25 euros.
The tickets are available at the directorates of both national and regional parks, visitor centres, during events, in recreation areas, as well as online, via Tiketa ticket distribution system and at Perlas outlets.
Funds raised from the sale of tickets are employed for protection, management, maintenance of the State parks, education and other activities, as well as for the educational tourism.
