Venta Regional Park has a modern observation tower2015-04-15
The new Jurakalnis observation tower was opened and presented to the public at Venta Regional Park. Its construction was supported by the EU.
The shape of this modern structure of wood and metal towering above the Venta River and reaching 15 metres in height looks like a flower blossom. If offers panoramic views of Venta Landscape Reserve, Jurakalnis outcrop and ridge and Papilė mounds.
The new Jurakalnis observation tower is located close to Daubiškiai village. Jurakalnis has a hiking trail built in 2012 leading to the museum of Simonas Daukantas. A parking lot was built near the observation tower.
Thirteen observation towers have already been built across Lithuanian national and regional parks using the EU financial support and three are under construction.
