The number of multi-apartment buildings to be renovated this year will almost be equal to the number of multi-apartment buildings renovated over eight years2014-07-25
The first six months of this year saw the commencement of the renovation of 423 old multi-apartment buildings, which is almost 90% of all such houses that were modernised under the Programme for Renovation of Multi-Apartment Buildings. In 2005-2012 only 479 multi-apartment buildings were renovated under this Programme. Thus, the number of multi-apartment buildings to be renovated in 2014, i.e. during one year, will almost be equal to the number of multi-apartment buildings renovated over eight years.
Currently, contracting works have commenced in respect of 572 multi-apartment buildings, tendering procedures for contracting works for construction are performed regarding the renovation of 266 multi-apartment buildings, tendering procedures for the renovation of 182 multi-apartment buildings will soon be started, and renovation investment projects have already been coordinated in respect of more than 700 buildings.
The Vice Minister of Environment Daiva Matonienė said that such results were the best proof that the breakthrough of renovation was determined by the new modernisation model that was proposed last year and that involved municipalities in the renovation of multi-apartment buildings.
According to the latest data, 80% of the currently renovated multi-apartment buildings (459 multi-apartment buildings out of 572) consist of projects implemented under the municipality programmes for the increase of energy performance.
For the purpose of the implementation of programmes for the increase of energy performance, most active renovation works are currently being performed in the municipalities of Ignalina, Anykščiai, Molėtai, Druskininkai, Mažeikiai and Varėna regions.
