Lithuanian and Polish environmentalists to share experience2013-03-19
Vice-minister of Environment Linas Jonauskas met yesterday with the Polish Vice-minister of Environment Janusz Zaleski to discuss the important points on forestry management, preservation of the living nature, protected areas and other issues within the environment sector which require closer cooperation and experience sharing between the two countries.
According to Mr Jonauskas, the Polish colleagues pointed out Lithuania’s efforts to reinforce control of how animal resources are used and that they would like to draw experience from our environmental inspectors in fighting poaching and preventing violations of environmental protection regulations.
Vice-minister Janusz Zaleski invited a Lithuanian delegation of environmentalists to visit Poland and learn about important environmental sites, meet with authorised officials and specialists of environmental authorities and build working relations.
It was agreed during the meeting that a delegation of Polish environmentalists will visit Lithuania for the same purpose.
