Lithuania signs memorandum with Luxembourg2011-03-15
Gediminas Kazlauskas, the Lithuanian Minister of Environment, and Claude Wiseler, Luxembourg's Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, have signed a memorandum of understanding on greenhouse gas emissions trading on behalf of the Governments of these two countries in Brussels.
According to Kazlauskas, this is an important step in negotiations with the Member State of the European Union, which defines the scope of trading and transaction terms. The text of the agreement and investment areas are yet to be agreed.
The memorandum with Luxembourg is the second memorandum of understanding on the sale of emission allowances signed by Lithuania with a Member State of the European Union.
