Denmark’s contribution to modernisation of blocks of flats discussed in Lithuania
The Lithuanian Minister of Environment, Gediminas Kazlauskas, has met with Danish Ambassador Laurids Mikaelsen.
The meeting addressed Denmark’s possibilities to contribute to a new block of flats modernisation programme and other projects.
Kazlauskas acquainted the guest with the JESSICA financial instrument and guidelines, conditions, possibilities and the present situation of the new block of flats modernisation programme. The Minister said that JESSICA funds would not suffice and therefore a search for other funds and financing possibilities was underway.
Mikaelsen confirmed that he was interested in the course of the new modernisation programme. The Ambassador asked to provide him with more detailed and specific information on its implementation, conditions, etc. The guest promised to introduce the programme in Denmark and said that it should generate considerable interest.
Kazlauskas promised to present the Ambassador with requested documents. They agreed to exchange information on the modernisation of blocks of flats and other projects on a regular basis. Mikaelsen said he would present them in his country and expressed hope that specific actions would then be taken.
