Vilija Augutavičienė takes office as new Chancellor of the Ministry of Environment2018-02-22
Vilija Augutavičienė, who headed the Economics and International Relations Department of the Ministry of Environment until today, has taken office as the Ministry’s Chancellor.
The new Chancellor has more than 20 years of experience in the public environmental sector system. Having come to the then Ministry of Forestry in 1995, Vilija Augutavičienė had a job for eight years related to forests. She began working at the Ministry’s Forest Department in 2002 and was appointed Director of the Environmental Strategy Department a year later. Following the reorganisation of this Department into the Economics and International Relations Department, she headed the latter Department until yesterday.
The large experience gained in administrative work, strategic planning and international relations will be of particular benefit for the new Chancellor.
