Last year one fourth billion euros was invested in the renovation of multi-storey buildings

Based on the data of the Housing Advisory Agency (BETA), last year over EUR 250 million was invested in the renovation of multi-storey buildings in the country. The total amount of investments made in more than 400 renovated multi-storey buildings totalled EUR 126 million, and the value of the renovation projects for 470 multi-storey buildings that are being currently renovated amount s to EUR 127 million. In total, since 2013 the investments in the multi-storey renovation programme have amounted to over EUR 0.6 billion.

According to BETA Director Valius Serbenta, such investments are beneficial not only for the residents but also influence the country’s economy, namely, the development of the construction sector, creation of new jobs and changes on the real estate market.

Currently, there are around 300 construction, engineering, project maintenance and administration companies participating in the multi-storey renovation programme. In 2017, around 450 construction works procurement tenders involving nearly 100 construction organisations were organised through CPO LT electronic procurement system alone.
